The MikroTik CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ is a flagship 100 Gigabit Cloud Core Router built for ISP core networks, carrier aggregation, data centers, enterprise backbones, high-capacity routing, and other demanding network environments.

Powered by a 16-core 2.0 GHz ARM64 processor with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, the CCR2216 delivers the processing power required for large routing tables, high-throughput firewalling, VPN services, traffic engineering, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN routing, and advanced RouterOS v7 deployments.

The router includes 12 x 25G SFP28 ports, 2 x 100G QSFP28 ports, and one Gigabit Ethernet management port. This high-density fiber interface configuration makes the CCR2216 ideal for aggregation, core routing, data center uplinks, and ISP networks moving from 10G and 40G infrastructure toward 25G and 100G connectivity.

A powerful Marvell Prestera 98DX8525 switch chip provides Layer 3 Hardware Offloading, allowing supported routing and switching operations to be processed directly in hardware. The switch chip connects to the CPU through four 25 Gbps links, significantly increasing hardware-offloaded routing capacity.

100G and 25G High-Speed Connectivity

The CCR2216 provides two QSFP28 interfaces for 100 Gigabit networking and twelve SFP28 cages for 25 Gigabit connections. The QSFP28 ports support multiple breakout options, allowing the router to adapt to different 100G, 50G, 40G, 25G, 10G, and 1G network designs depending on compatible optics and cables.
