Ubiquiti AF-MPX8 airFiber 8x8 MIMO Multiplexer
The Ubiquiti AF-MPX8 is an 8x8 MIMO multiplexer for airFiber backhaul deployments designed to increase wireless link capacity without requiring additional dish antennas.
By combining up to four compatible airFiber X radios on a single compatible antenna, the AF-MPX8 can deliver more than 2 Gbps of aggregate throughput while also providing flexible redundant-link options for high-capacity WISP, ISP, and carrier backhaul networks.
The multiplexer uses four independent 2x2 MIMO paths to create an 8x8 MIMO configuration. This allows network operators to increase capacity at an existing tower or point-to-point site while minimizing additional antenna loading, tower space, and installation complexity.

Increase Backhaul Capacity Without Adding Another Dish
The AF-MPX8 allows multiple airFiber radios to share one compatible antenna, helping network operators scale link capacity without installing additional dishes. This is especially useful at crowded tower sites where antenna space, wind loading, and mounting capacity are limited.
8x8 MIMO Architecture
The AF-MPX8 provides four separate 2x2 MIMO paths, creating an overall 8x8 MIMO configuration when used with the appropriate radios and antenna system. This architecture is designed to increase aggregate wireless capacity across the point-to-point backhaul link.
Up to 2+ Gbps Aggregate Throughput
When deployed with multiple compatible airFiber X radios, the AF-MPX8 can support more than 2 Gbps of aggregate throughput, making it suitable for ISP backbone, tower interconnect, high-capacity point-to-point, and aggregation links.
Redundant Link Options
The AF-MPX8 can also be used to create redundant link configurations. This gives service providers additional flexibility when designing high-availability wireless backhaul networks.
