L-com HG4958-17DP-090 4.9–5.8 GHz Dual-Polarized MIMO Sector Antenna
The L-com HyperLink HG4958-17DP-090 is an outdoor sector antenna designed for wireless base stations and point-to-multipoint networks. Its dual-feed design combines vertical and horizontal polarization in one enclosure for use with two radio transmit and receive paths.
Marketed as a 17 dBi, 90° sector antenna, this model covers 4900–5850 MHz. L-com’s electrical specification table lists gain as 16 ±1 dBi. It is intended for WISP infrastructure, outdoor wireless LANs, and compatible MIMO base-station installations requiring directional sector coverage.

Sector Coverage and MIMO Operation
The directional sector pattern supports coverage of a selected service area. Separate vertical and horizontal feeds allow connection to a compatible two-chain radio. Wireless protocol support, channel widths, and network performance depend on the connected radio and client equipment.
RF Connectivity
The antenna provides two 50-ohm N-female RF connections. Select cables with mating N-male connectors at the antenna end and the correct connector type at the radio end. Cable assemblies must support the operating frequency and provide suitable outdoor protection.
Outdoor Installation
The UV-resistant radome and included stainless steel mast mount support outdoor installation. Tilt and swivel adjustment help align the antenna with the intended coverage area.
Equipment Requirements
This is a passive RF antenna and requires a separate wireless radio. It has no Ethernet interface or PoE input. Radio power, network connectivity, and management are provided by the connected equipment.

Compatible Products
The HG4958-17DP-090 requires a radio operating within the antenna’s 4900–5850 MHz range, with suitable 50-ohm RF connections. Two RF cable assemblies are required to use both polarization feeds with a two-chain MIMO radio.
- Ubiquiti airMAX Rocket M5 — US Version – Compatible for RF operation within the radio’s supported and authorized 5 GHz channels. Requires two suitable 50-ohm N-male-to-RP-SMA-male cable assemblies and a separate radio mounting arrangement.
Important: The antenna’s N-female connectors do not connect directly to the Rocket M5’s RP-SMA connectors. The HG4958-17DP-090 is the standalone antenna model; do not assume it includes a Rocket mounting bracket or radio jumper cables. L-com’s ARK4958-17DP-090-0 is a separate bundle that adds Rocket M5 integration hardware and cables.
Installation requirements: Configure antenna gain, cable loss, transmit power, and channel selection according to the radio manufacturer’s instructions and applicable regulations. The antenna does not extend a radio’s supported frequency range or make different wireless protocols interoperable.
