Cisco WAP551-A-K9 N450 Selectable-Band Wireless Access Point
The Cisco WAP551-A-K9 adds Wireless-N connectivity to an existing wired network. Its single radio operates on either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, allowing administrators to select the band suited to their clients and installation.
Designed for indoor business environments, the WAP551 combines a Gigabit Ethernet uplink with 802.3af Power over Ethernet. Single Point Setup supports management of multiple access points without a separate hardware controller.

Wireless Performance
The 802.11n radio supports 20 MHz and 40 MHz channels. The 450 Mbps figure is a maximum PHY rate; actual throughput depends on client capabilities, interference, channel configuration, and network conditions.
Power and Installation
A compliant 802.3af PoE switch or injector supplies power through the Ethernet connection. Use Category 5e or better cabling for Gigabit connectivity.
Network Management and Guest Access
Browser-based configuration, Single Point Setup, and guest-access controls support management of a business wireless network.

Compatible Products
Important: Do not use a passive PoE injector based only on its voltage or RJ-45 connector. Clients must support the band currently selected on the access point. The WAP551 does not provide simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz service.
