Manhattan 560689 8-Port Fast Ethernet Desktop Switch
The Manhattan 560689 expands a wired network with eight auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. Designed for homes and small offices, this unmanaged desktop switch connects computers, network printers and other compatible Ethernet equipment without a configuration process.
Auto MDI/MDI-X support on every port simplifies connections to computers, routers and other switches. Its compact plastic housing and fanless design make it suitable for quiet workspaces, while Green Ethernet technology reduces power use by deactivating unused ports.

Fast Ethernet Connectivity
Each port supports a maximum link rate of 100 Mbps. Any port can connect to a router or another switch, so a dedicated uplink port is unnecessary. When one port is used for the upstream connection, seven ports remain available for other devices.
Simple Network Expansion
Connect the included power adapter and attach compatible Ethernet devices using suitable network cables. The switch requires no software installation or management configuration. A separate router is required for routing and shared Internet access.
Quiet Desktop Operation
The fanless enclosure operates without cooling-fan noise. Position the switch with at least 25 mm of clearance above and around its sides for ventilation.
Power and Device Requirements
The switch uses its included external 5 V DC power adapter. It does not provide PoE power to connected equipment. Cameras, access points and other powered devices require a separate compatible power source.

Compatible Products
The Manhattan 560689 connects to equipment supporting 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX Ethernet. Devices with faster Ethernet ports must support negotiation to 10 or 100 Mbps. Use suitable copper Ethernet patch cables; Cat5e or better is a practical choice.
- Vertical Cable 092-681/100GY Cat5e UTP Ethernet Patch Cable, 100 ft, Gray – compatible for Ethernet data connections between the switch and supported network equipment. Its straight-through wiring works with the switch's Auto MDI/MDI-X ports.
Important: All eight ports are limited to 100 Mbps. Using Cat6 cabling or connecting a Gigabit-capable device does not increase this limit. This switch does not supply PoE; connected devices must receive power separately.
Cabling: Include all patch cords, outlets and intermediate connections when checking the complete channel length. The installation guide specifies connections within 100 m of the network device.
