Ubiquiti EF-Core - Enterprise Firewall Core
The Ubiquiti EF-Core is an enterprise-class 100 Gbps Cloud Gateway with 79 Gbps IDS/IPS throughput. It manages more than 2,250 UniFi devices, supports more than 22,500 simultaneous users, and handles up to 10 million concurrent sessions. Its port layout includes 100G QSFP28, 25G SFP28, 10 GbE RJ45, 1 GbE RJ45, management, and console interfaces.
The gateway supports Shadow Mode with VRRP failover and includes two hot-swappable AC/DC power supplies. Security and routing functions include Layer 7 firewall controls, SSL inspection, intrusion prevention, multi-WAN load balancing, dynamic routing, site-to-site VPN, and license-free SD-WAN.
Traffic capacity and connectivity
The EF-Core processes up to 120,000 new sessions per second and supports 10,000 concurrent SSL/TLS inspection sessions. Eight WAN ports can be configured, with one 100G QSFP28, one 25G SFP28, and one 10 GbE RJ45 interface assigned as the default WAN ports.
Security and high availability
Security functions include a stateful firewall, application-aware Layer 7 filtering, DPI, URL filtering, zone-based firewall policies, content filtering, and IPS/IDS. Shadow Mode uses VRRP for gateway failover, while the redundant hot-swappable power supplies help maintain operation if one power supply fails.
