Guest Internet GIS-K1 Wireless Hotspot Gateway
The Guest Internet GIS-K1 combines a hotspot controller and an indoor wireless access point to provide managed Internet access for guests and customers. Connect its WAN port to your existing Internet router, then configure how users connect through a customizable login page.
Designed for cafés, restaurants, retail locations and small hospitality installations, the GIS-K1 supports free access, access codes and supported paid-access workflows. Its four LAN ports also allow wired devices and additional access points to join the managed guest network.
Key Features
- Integrated 802.11n wireless access point with a maximum advertised link rate of 300 Mbps.
- One WAN port and four LAN ports with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet.
- Customizable captive portal for business branding and guest login.
- Access-code and voucher-based Internet access.
- Per-user download/upload speed, session-time and data controls.
- Local administration and optional cloud management.
Guest Access and Vouchers
Choose an access method suited to your business, including acceptance of terms, pre-generated codes or collection of guest information. Supported PayPal and credit-card workflows provide options for selling access, subject to payment-service availability and account requirements.
Voucher generation is a software function. Physical ticket printing requires a suitable printer and the associated control device.
Network Management
Manage guest usage through bandwidth limits, access schedules and supported filtering controls. Configure the hotspot through the setup wizard and administration interface.
Installation and Expansion
Connect the gateway between your Internet router and the guest network. Additional access points can extend coverage through the LAN connections when configured to pass guest traffic through the GIS-K1.
Ideal Applications
- Coffee shops and restaurants offering customer Wi-Fi.
- Small hospitality properties and guest accommodation.
- Retail waiting areas and public-facing businesses.
- Internet cafés and voucher-based access services.
Compatible Products
- Guest Internet GIS-TP1 Access-Code Ticket Printer – Connect it to the GIS-K1 LAN network to print access-code tickets.
The GIS-TP1 printing interface requires a separate compatible computer or tablet. The printer and control device are not included with the GIS-K1 gateway.
Additional Access Points: The manufacturer supports connecting external access points to the LAN network. Configure them so client traffic passes through the GIS-K1, and provide power according to each access point's own requirements.
Important: An Ethernet connection does not establish PoE compatibility. GIS-K1 PoE input or output was not confirmed. Use the supplied gateway power adapter and separately approved power equipment for external devices.
