PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

Guest Internet GIS-R10 Dual-WAN Hotspot Gateway

The Guest Internet GIS-R10 controls how guests access an existing Internet connection. Installed between the upstream router and the guest network, it provides a customizable captive portal, access-code management and user bandwidth controls.

Businesses can offer complimentary access, distribute vouchers or configure paid Internet access. The gateway is suited to hospitality properties, campgrounds, RV parks and other venues that need centralized control over guest connectivity.

Key Features

  • Manufacturer-advertised throughput of up to 400 Mbps.
  • Two Gigabit WAN ports with load balancing and failover.
  • Four Gigabit LAN ports.
  • Customizable guest login page.
  • Access-code, disclaimer and open-access options.
  • Per-user upload/download bandwidth, time and data controls.
  • Local administration and cloud management.
  • VLAN support for appropriately configured guest and staff networks.

Guest Access and Branding

Create a branded login experience and choose how visitors receive Internet access. Access codes can support controlled distribution, while disclaimer and open-access modes accommodate complimentary services. Paid access requires the appropriate payment-service configuration.

Dual-WAN Connectivity

Two WAN interfaces support load balancing and failover when configured with suitable upstream connections. Gigabit Ethernet link speeds provide network connectivity; they do not change the gateway's advertised throughput rating.

Wireless Network Integration

The GIS-R10 manages access for clients connected through external access points. Wireless coverage, radio bands and client link rates depend on those access points and the network design.

Management and Installation

A setup wizard guides initial configuration. Administrators can manage access policies, monitor usage and customize the login page. Install the gateway in a suitable non-industrial indoor equipment environment.

Ideal Applications

  • Hotels, motels and resorts.
  • Campgrounds and RV parks.
  • Visitor networks in schools and public facilities.
  • Retail and hospitality guest Internet services.

Compatible Products

The GIS-R10 connects to an upstream router through Ethernet and serves a downstream guest network. Wireless access points must be configured so guest traffic passes through the gateway. Staff/guest VLAN designs require compatible VLAN-capable network equipment and matching configuration.

Important: The GIS-R10 does not replace the wireless access points needed for Wi-Fi coverage. Power each access point using its supported adapter, injector or PoE switch; PoE output from the GIS-R10 was not verified.

PMS and POS integration requires application-specific development or a verified integration. An available API does not establish compatibility with every hospitality or payment platform.
