Ubiquiti USW-16-POE 16-Port Gigabit PoE+ Switch | 42W, 2 SFP
The Ubiquiti UniFi USW-16-POE is a managed Layer 2 switch designed to expand UniFi networks with Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, standards-based PoE, and centralized management. It provides 16 Gigabit RJ45 ports, including eight ports with IEEE 802.3af/at PoE and PoE+, plus two 1G SFP ports for compatible fiber or copper uplinks.
With a total PoE budget of 42W, the USW-16-POE can power compatible wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, and other IEEE 802.3af/at devices. Its compact 1U rackmount enclosure, quiet fanless cooling system, and 1.3-inch touchscreen make it well suited for offices, retail locations, home networks, and other installations where low-noise operation is important.
The switch integrates with the UniFi Network application for centralized configuration, monitoring, VLAN management, traffic control, port management, and network visibility.

Gigabit Switching Performance
The USW-16-POE offers a 36 Gbps switching capacity, 18 Gbps of total non-blocking throughput, and an approximately 27 Mpps forwarding rate. All 16 RJ45 interfaces support 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, while the two SFP interfaces support 1 Gbps connections.
PoE and Power
RJ45 ports 1 through 8 support IEEE 802.3af PoE and IEEE 802.3at PoE+. The switch provides up to 32W per port from the PSE, subject to a shared 42W total PoE budget. The other eight RJ45 ports provide data connectivity without PoE output.
The internal 60W power supply accepts 100–240V AC at 50/60 Hz. Maximum switch consumption is 18W excluding PoE output and 60W including PoE output.
Fiber and Uplink Connectivity
Two 1G SFP slots support compatible 1 Gigabit SFP transceivers for fiber uplinks or additional copper Ethernet connections. These are SFP interfaces operating at 1 Gbps; they are not 10G SFP+ ports.
UniFi Network Management
The USW-16-POE is managed through the UniFi Network application, version 7.2.94 or later. Supported capabilities include VLAN configuration, port aggregation, STP and RSTP, IGMP snooping, port isolation, port mirroring, storm control, flow control, jumbo frames, 802.1X control, DHCP snooping and guarding, access-control lists, voice VLAN, and loop protection.
Quiet Rackmount Design
The fanless thermal design allows the switch to operate quietly in noise-sensitive environments. Its 1U SGCC steel enclosure can be installed in a compatible rack, and rackmount hardware is included. Fanless units should not be stacked directly on top of one another.

Compatible Products
The eight PoE-enabled RJ45 ports are compatible with network devices that explicitly accept IEEE 802.3af PoE or IEEE 802.3at PoE+. The connected devices must remain within the switch’s shared 42W PoE budget. The two uplink slots require 1G SFP-compatible transceivers.
- Ubiquiti UACC-CM-RJ45-1G SFP to RJ45 Module – provides a compatible 1 Gigabit copper Ethernet connection through one of the switch’s 1G SFP slots.
Important: Only ports 1–8 provide PoE output. This switch does not support PoE++/IEEE 802.3bt, 24V passive PoE, 2.5GbE, 5GbE, 10GbE, or 10G SFP+. Confirm each powered device’s PoE standard and consumption before installation. Although an individual PoE+ port supports up to 32W from the PSE, all eight PoE ports share a combined 42W budget.
